DAVAO CITY – Davao City Mayor led the opening of a mobile kitchen that aims to provide warm food to disaster victims in the city.
Dubbed “Kusina ng Bayan,” Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio and City Social Services and Development Office head Malou Bermudo cooked pancakes and other hot meals in the kitchen and distributed the food to some Davaoeños on Monday.
"The rescue team unit responding the incidents will also benefit the program," the mayor said.
Kusina ng Bayan will immediately respond to fire, flood, and natural calamities, with two mobile kitchens which will be set up in the two districts of Davao City.
Duterte said they are eyeing to add more mobile kitchens.
The project is based on the Duterte Kitchen that serves food to the less fortunate.
