President Rodrigo Duterte has elevated a Quezon City judge to the Court of Appeals (CA).
Duterte appointed Quezon City Regional Trial Court Judge Tita Marilyn Payoyo-Villordon, replacing retired CA Justice Francisco Acosta.
Villordon's appointment paper was signed on June 28 but was released by the Supreme Court only on Thursday.
It was Villordon who convicted a Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) official last March who admitted to misappropriating P1.87 million intended for lotto and sweepstakes prizes in 2008 and 2009.
