Ice and cannabis found in Warwick/Toowoomba drug operation overnight

PASSIVE drug dog detection between police in Warwick and Toowoomba resulted in a number of notices to appear for possession of drugs.

The joint operation comprised of surprise visits to licensed premises in Warwick, Allora and Toowoomba.

Detective Sergeant Darren Tamblyn of the Warwick Criminal Investigation Branch said whilst there were a number of people found in possession, the public appreciated the efforts in tackling drugs.

"A number of people were given notice to appear for possession of cannabis and ice across Warwick and Toowoomba,” he said.

"We had intel that suggested people may be using drugs at licensed premises.

"In general, the feedback we've had from the public has been good.

Detective Sergeant Tamblyn said the presence in the area will certainly make drug users think twice about trying to get away with it.

"People will have that in the back of their mind when they go out next,” he said.

"There will definitely be more of these conducted in the future.”
